Chao Saigon Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine: Reviews & Ratings
We went here for dinner and I was blown away by the quality and quantity of the food! We ordered the Banh Mi, Pad Thai, Rice Platter and Soft Shell Crab. The crab was my absolute favourite! I am so happy that such good Vietnamese food is a 5-minute walk from my house now. It’s also quite affordable and the free tea they give is delicious.
Chao Saigon Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine is a great spot for Vietnamese food in the area. The vermicelli bowl and spring rolls were especially good — fresh ingredients, generous portions, and very authentic flavors. The dishes overall are well-seasoned without being too salty, and everything tastes clean and balanced. Service is friendly, and the food comes out quickly. A nice, cozy place for a casual meal. I’ll definitely come back to try more dishes!
We wanted to try this place and had a nice experience. The crispy spring rolls are definitely a must-try item. The Tom Yum noodle soup was also great, with good flavor and just the right spice level. The calamari had too much batter, although the batter itself was tasty. The shrimp Pad Thai was also good, and we want to try their pho next time. For anyone interested, their soft launch (10% off)continues until the end of September.
Chao Saigon has some of the most authentic pho I’ve had — flavorful broth, fresh ingredients, and big portions. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Stopping by as I saw there is a soft opening with a 10% discount. The food was delicious, and the portion was huge as well, I couldn't finish. Pricing is very reasonable around the area. They said the spring roll here was the chef's secret recipe and gave us a free plate to try. Oh man, how generous! And no lie, it was delicious! 100% recommending this place! I was so hungry, so I forgot to take photos before I started, so please excuse my photos.
Chao Saigon Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine won me over the moment the dishes started landing on the table. Everything we ordered came out looking vibrant and generous, and the flavors backed it up. I started with a steaming bowl of spicy beef noodle soup, and it was the kind of bowl that makes you pause after the first sip of broth. Deep, aromatic, and rich without being heavy—exactly what good Vietnamese comfort food should taste like. They don’t skimp on portions either; there was plenty of tender beef tucked under the surface and fresh herbs to brighten every bite. The vermicelli plate was just as impressive. Charcoal-kissed grilled pork, juicy meat cuts, crispy spring rolls, and that golden shrimp skewer all layered over soft noodles with fresh veggies and herbs. It’s the kind of dish where every element holds its own—and together, they’re even better. The pork especially stood out with that subtle smoky flavor everyone keeps mentioning. We also tried some sides, and they were spot-on: crispy, freshly fried items that tasted like they came straight from the kitchen, not a warming tray. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. To end the meal, I couldn’t resist their Vietnamese drip coffee. Watching it slowly drip into the glass over condensed milk was half the fun, and the taste was worth the wait—bold, silky, and just sweet enough. A simple thing done really well. What ties the whole experience together is the atmosphere: cozy, clean, and relaxed, with staff who are warm, attentive, and never pushy. It’s easy to settle in and feel comfortable here. If you’re in the Markham/Richmond Hill area and craving authentic Vietnamese flavors, Chao Saigon is absolutely worth the stop. Fair prices, big portions, and food that tastes like it’s made with care—I’m already planning what to try next time.
New Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond Hill located in the plaza beside Bayview Secondary School. It’s in the same plaza as Wal-Mart and other restaurants, so there’s a large parking lot. We went on a Monday during lunch and it wasn’t too busy so we were seated right away. The service is fast and the restaurant is spacious. I love that they have Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk. For food, we ordered bo kho (beef stew with noodle soup), vermicelli bowl with spring roll and lemongrass chicken broken rice. The portions are generous and everything on the menu was under $20. I need to come back to try their pho!
First time coming here and absolutely loved it. Pho is superior and portions are bigger than other places in this area so be aware of that when ordering large. Broth is very rich in flavor, meat is a bit chewy tho. Service is extra friendly, very helpful and kind, i loved my experience with a lady helping me today, but i don’t know her name unfortunately. Place is clean, with a variety of options on the menu. A lot of other soups other then pho, many appetizers that regular places don’t have so i’ll come again to try everything out. They also have a lot of drinks and deserts. Looking forward to come back!
